I’m seeking teaching and or consulting assignments where I can apply my 49 years of IT industry experience, and my 34 years of teaching experience.

Career Summary
I have over 49years experience as a software engineer and application development professional. 

I’ve served in a variety of technical and management positions with Electronic Data Systems, Texas Instruments, Eyring Research, and the LDS Church, and as an independent consultant. 

My experience is  extensive  in designing, implementing and maintaining commercial software applications and communications, operating system, data base management, and systems level software. 

As a manager, I've led teams of programming, design, and systems analysis personnel working on various project definition, design, development, installation, maintenance, and training projects.  

My academic experience includes teaching computer science courses at Utah Valley State College and Weber State University and Westminster College.  I have extensive corporate teaching experience as an instructor and author with Learning Tree International.  I’ve also authored CBT (computer based training) courses and taught web based courses as a remote instructor. I'm also a Certified Technical Trainer and a Microsoft Certified Trainer.

Experience Highlights

  • Webucator instructor since 2010.  Teaching Microsoft Official Curriculum courses as an online instructor and on-sites for selected clients.  I teach a wide variety of courses from Silverlight and WPF to WorkFlow and C#.  My primary teaching involves official Microsoft courses though I do teach Webucator authored and custom courses.
  • Learning Tree International instructor since 1988; author of two client/server courses and three CBT (CD Based Training) courses, instructor one WBT (Web Based Training Course).  Currently I teach 8 titles and have experience teaching 12 other titles.  I am certified to teach Learning Tree AnyWare courses (Learning Tree's remote training offering) and have taught several courses in this mode.
  • Taught as adjunct faculty for Utah Valley University, Weber State University and Westminster College. My teaching load included; Computer Science, Information Technology, and Application courses (Word Perfect, MS Word, Access, PhotoShop, etc.).
  • Developed, designed and implemented vertical client/server application for auto repair industry
  • Designed and implemented conversion of scheduling application to intranet based ASP (active server page) application.
  • Developed, designed and implemented genealogical library catalog client/server system for the LDS Church
  • Developed, designed and implemented client module of Ancestral File large-scale (5 billion record) database system.
  • Project Manger for development of RARS (receiving and routing system), high speed loading and conversion subsystem of Ancestral File.
  • Evaluated, planned and managed numerous new product development efforts.
  • Developed and installed large scale telephone answering service with interface to AT&T switching system, including computer graphics, data to voice and voice to data interfaces.
  • Designed and developed multi-processor distributed processing control and reporting system to control the manufacturing of VHS video recording tape manufacturing process.
  • Designed and implemented numerous commercial software application packages for EDS Corp.
